Gluten Free Date Guide London Fries A Balanced Belly

The best UK destinations for gluten-free dining

AD

Today I’m back with another travel guide and this time it’s going to be a guide to eating gluten-free across the UK.

Obviously, lots of us aren’t going on holiday at the moment and aren’t even anticipating going abroad for years now. However, there is still the option of exploring your own city or time or venturing a little bit further afield for a UK city break (depending on whether the current law allows it!).

If you are planning a little winter UK weekend break, here are some of my favourite gluten-free destinations across the UK that I think is absolutely fantastic for gluten-free food.

If you’re thinking of staying in instead, it might be worth checking out some of my favorite gluten-free baking kits or recipes to make at home.

1.London

I’m not suggesting everyone trek to the capital because obviously, it’s in tier two right now, but lots of people here live on the outskirts of London or London itself might want to consider taking a look at gluten-free guide to London and all the amazing places that do gluten-free: it truly is an amazing destination if you’re gluten and dairy-free is everything from the most amazing dairy-free ice cream at Yorica to the ultimate gluten-free burger at Honest Burger. I wish that I could explore more and more and keep updating but ufortunately I just don’t see myself going to London for the foreseeable future at the moment.

2. Birmingham.

Atpizza

Birmingham actually has some really great gluten-free options, and this place is really only around 40 minutes away from us. The stables and @pizza are both really good options for gluten-free pizza and in Selfridges is a Borough 22 section where you can get really good gluten-free doughnuts. You can read my gluten-free guide to Birmingham for more info.

3. Cambridge.

Cambridge

We visited Cambridge a few years ago now and we just loved it! I think my highlight was eating gluten-free Mexican food at Nana Mexico just because I haven’t had gluten-free Mexican food for so long and it was so good.

But there really is all sorts and I must say it’s an amazing historic city. You can read my guide to Cambridge here.

4. Dublin

so I just recently published a gluten-free guide to Dublin so I’m going to link that here. Obviously, I wouldn’t be going this further afield at the moment, but hopefully, some of you will be reading this further down the line.

Dublin was an amazing place for gluten-free and I was surprised at how much I love it. I was only there for a few days and I’d actually I’d love to go back. There was also a really good range of gluten free staples avaliable in the shops there too.

5. Stratford upon Avon.

So, this is another place it’s really near me, and is popular at the moment I think for people visiting because again, there are things that you can do outside like go by the river ( there are some attractions open but unfortunately, a lot of the original tourist attractions aren’t open at the moment). It’s a really good place to be gluten-free in Stratford upon Avon. There are some fantastic gluten-free tea options, and just outside the centre is a really good gluten-free fish and chips option as well. You can read my guide to a gluten-free Stratford upon Avon here.

At the start of lockdown, I shared a guide to all the gluten free places doing the ‘eat out to help out’ deal whilst that may no longer be happening it’s still a useful list of gluten-free restaurants wherever you are in the country!
