Winter is finally here and gosh it’s cold! But with cold weather does seem to come a whole host of new gluten and dairy free foods on the shelves. If you’re off to the supermarket this month, here’s twenty foods to pop in your trolley.
Some items (marked with *) were gifted for me to try with no obligation to post (or rave about!)
1.Heck ‘Guy Porks’ *

Unless you’re reading this as soon as it goes live, you may be too late as they’re only available for a limited period of time (although they’re still live at Sainsbury’s online at time of publishing) They’re a gorgeous mix of treacle, pork and apple and work a treat in my sausage slow cooker stew recipe. If you’re too late, don’t despair: check out number ten!
2. Bay’s Kitchen New Flavours *

I’ve shared with you before about how much I love Bay’s Kitchen low FODMAP sauces; but they’re back with THREE New flavours AND available in Morrisons and Ocado! The new flavours are thai green curry, korma and tikka masala!
3. Bird’s Eye Southern Fried Chicken

Perfect for lazy midweek dinners, these southern chicken fillets taste really close to the real thing!
4. Violife Epic Festive Platter

I used to love a cheese board at Christmas-now I no longer to feel left out with this offering from Violife!
5. Tesco Chicken and Stuffing Tortilla Chips

Get into the festive spirit with these tree-shaped tortilla chips. I’m not convinced they taste authentically of turkey but it is nice to have a change from salted tortilla chips. Tesco also do maple bacon tortilla curls as part of their free from Christmas range (But to be honest, I found these a bit bland)!
6. Whole Creations Dairy and Gluten Free Pizza

I love the butternut squash flavour in particular. The toppings are really plentiful and the ‘cheese’ is great!
7. Buttermilk Festive Mince Pie Fudge

Sainsbury’s are selling this super festive looking mince pie fudge from Buttermilk. I’ve tried Buttermilk’s dairy-free easter eggs and really liked them so have high hopes for this! Buttermilk is also bringing out a few more products in January that I was given a sneak peek of and they’re amazing!
8. Asda Hash Brown Mini Bites
An accidental find recently was these hash brown mini bites from Asda. They’re not in the free-from aisle so you need to checkout the regular fridge section for these.
9. Morrison’s Gluten-Free Pizza
I know this has been out for ages but I, along with many others, found that it wasn’t available in many Morrison’s. I spoke to a member of staff and it should now be up and running-AND I finally got my hands on one of my own. It’s a gamechanger!
UPDATE: Since writing this, I went to buy this again and it now has a warning sticker on that it may contain gluten as it is made in a busy, gluten-containing kitchen.
10. Co-op Fishcakes

There’s lots more gluten free fishcakes now avaliable at the Co-op. These prawn, cod, sweet and potato and sweet chilli make a nice change from the usual flavour.
11. New York Bagel Company Gluten Free Bagels

These arrive at Tesco on the 18th November and I’m very excited to try them!
12. Nutricious Delicious Cocount Yoghurt

These yummy coconut yoghurt are available in Tesco and a nice alternative to soya based ones. What’s more, if you use the Shopmium app, you can get them for a £1!
13 and 14. Tesco Onion Rings and Cheese Flavour Balls
Two more crisp entries from Tesco and these are 10/10. Yep, the cheese flavour balls are in fact vegan! The only problem is you will probably eat the whole bag in five seconds.
15. Heck Chicken Sage and Onion Sausages*

If you missed out on Heck’s bonfire night offering, don’t worry. Heck’s Christmas sausages are back and better than ever! I personally prefer chicken sausages so love these!
16. Nairns Savoury Biscuit Selection*

The perfect compliment to vegan cheese! This cracker selection contains a mixture of oatcakes and crackers; 2 are of the cheese variety but the other four are dairy-free. Available from Tesco.
17. Kirsty’s Apple Pie*

Kirsty’s have launched two new deserts and I picked up this one at Asda (Kirsty’s kindly gifted me some vouchers). I don’t think I’ve had apple pie since going gluten-free and it’s delicious. The pie is a really thick, luxurious slice.
18. Kirsty’s Ready Meals*
Kirsty’s also so have added some new ready meals to range too. Like Butternut Squash Curry and Spag Bol!

19. Galaxy Vegan Chocolate

Did you read my blog post about galaxy’s new vegan chocolate bars? They’re coming to Tesco this month.
20. Raw Halo*

Looking for another dairy-free chocolate alternative? I love Raw Halo and I love their rebrand even more! Their ‘mylk’ alternatives taste so much like the real thing and their dark chocolate with pink sea salt is amazing.
