With slow cooker season now around the corner, I’m adding a new slow cooker dish to my gluten-free slow cooker recipes. This time it’s my autumnal gluten and dairy-free orange cranberry chicken slow cooker recipe; perfect for lots of flavors, whilst also being low fat/low residue and low fodmap adaptable too.
Is this gluten free slow cooker orange cranberry chicken dairy free?
Yes, this gluten-free cranberry chicken is also dairy-free too! It uses just a handful of ingredients that are completely gluten and dairy-free. If you’re gluten and dairy-free, you might also like my gluten and dairy-free slow cooker ‘butter’ chicken.
Is this gluten free slow cooker orange cranberry chicken low residue?
This recipe is low fat so it is perfect if you’re usually triggered by fatty foods. The only thing that may be an issue is the cranberry sauce-check the individual jar you use for the fibre content; a smooth blended cranberry sauce may be fine for you on the low residue diet but one with whole cranberry pieces in maybe too fibrous.
What stock should I use?
You can use any gluten-free stock cubes or bone broth if you prefer. If you are on the low FODMAP diet, then I recommend this chicken stock.
Is this gluten-free slow cooker orange cranberry chicken low FODMAP friendly?
Yes, all the ingredients in this are low FODMAP friendly. It might be worth making your own low FODMAP cranberry sauce (like this one) or checking the ingredients carefully on your store-bought one. I have linked above the best low FODMAP stock to use. Orange marmalade is also low FODMAP.
