Reviewed: Nutribuddy’s gluten-free range and WIN your own breakfast bundle-AD

Today, I’m back with a new product review and an exciting giveaway.

Disclaimer: AD-This is a sponsored giveaway and review with Nutribuddy but all thoughts and words are my own.

I’ve been trying Nutribuddy’s products and today am going to share my review-in terms of how I found them for a gluten-free diet and for my digestion issues.

If you’ve seen them and aren’t sure if to give them a try, I’ve broken down my thoughts on them, in terms of my own experience, the ingredients and my thoughts on how they might be useful if you struggle with gut issues like IBS.

You can then jump to find out how to win a bundle for yourself!

About Nutribuddy: debunking the myths

You’ve probably seen Nutribuddy on Instagram. It’s often something promoted by Love Island stars and influencers (of which I am not!) and it’s something I’ve always been intrigued to try.

I’m always looking for quick and easy breakfast ideas and also ways to get nutrient-dense meals for when my belly is flaring.

But as you know, I’d never promoted anything that was specifically slimming or a weight-loss diet.

In fact, Nutribuddy isn’t anything of the sort.

Their ingredients are all completely natural and healthy (For example, their breakfast shake, which is my favourite is a mix of gluten-free oats and seeds).

Thankfully, there’s nothing laxative about them or ‘slimming’ necessarily either (although I guess like anything, you’d lose weight if you made the swaps to this healthier range of products but that was not personally my aim).

The hot chocolate drink is called ‘hot slim’ which I thought was a bit of a shame as, nutritionally, the ingredients are great-with things like pea protein and lucuma powder-so it’s a shame the name doesn’t reflect that).

Despite this, for me, the range is just about trying to be healthier and saving a bit of time (which as a mom, I really need!).

Some people might use them as meal replacement shakes and they have a good guide to that here but that’s because they’re nutritionally balanced (for example, their breakfast shake is the same as porridge-oats, flaxseeds, chia and coconut) you’re not really missing a meal, just so much as making it healthier, easier and quicker.

However, you can also just use them as a snack or when you’re on the go or travelling, which is how I used them.

My thoughts on the gluten-free Nutribuddy breakfast shake

Nutribuddy have a whole range of items but let’s talk about a few of my favourites. The breakfast shake is perfect for days when I’m on the go. I know there’s quite a few breakfast shakes out there-like ‘weetabix on the go’ etc but there’s really nothing out there for those of us who are gluten and/or dairy-free until I discovered this!

If you’re late for work or going somewhere overnight, there’s really nothing express you can make and take-at least without a fridge or a kettle-, and that’s why I think this is such a gamechanger.

You simply pour in the mix to your shaker bottle, add dairy-free milk and then drink! I did find I needed to be quite vigorous to shake or the mixture clumped at the bottom, so it took a little bit of practice but I got there in the end.

It tastes much sweeter than I thought (it just uses stevia) so much so, that a few times in a pinch I’ve just made it with cold water too.

This really has made such a difference to me on busy days as a new mom and it’s a product I would 100% recommend. It takes seconds!

The ingredients are great: the strawberry flavour I used is just gluten-free oats, flaxseeds and chia seeds, desiccated coconuts, beetroot powder and stevia. If you prefer no sweeteners, the naked flavour is just the seeds, oats and coconut).

A lot of express products I’ve found and have emulsifiers and stabilisers but this has none of these.

If you struggle with digestion issues like me, I think this shake certainly shouldn’t worsen things and could help! It does contain fibre but the seeds and coconuts are finely milled, and of course, both oats and chia seeds are full of soluble fibre which is actually pretty great for your gut.

Instant Chia and Coconut Porridge

Another product I’ve loved is the chia and coconut porridge. I also use it with Jude as the ingredients are again really natural. It’s just a mix of chia, coconut and oats and a great way of getting some chia seeds into your diet (As they’re a great source of omega 3). It’s instant porridge so it’s really quick to make in the microwave.

The only thing that puts me off repurchasing this one is the price. It’s £7.99 for a 14 day supply which isn’t cheap.

Of course, you can get gluten-free oats a lot cheaper, but I’d probably repurchase if I was going on holiday to pop in my suitcase, so I knew I was getting everything I need and it’s a lot easier/cheaper AND less plastic than buying a ton of gluten-free porridge pots which I’ve done before!

Is Nutribuddy good for digestive conditions like IBS and IBD?

I know a lot of people are searching for products that can help with gut issues so thought I’d mention this here.

Nutritionally, the range contains quite a few gut-friendly ingredients.

If you are very sensitive to fibre, you could consider sipping the drink slowly throughout the day or blending it to break the seeds down further (although the mix is very fine).

There’s a range of different flavours; some contain green tea which I steered away from as I personally find this can upset my stomach but there’s plenty of flavours that don’t contain this.

If you’re switching from a regular breakfast to Nutribuddy, there’s quite a lot that might help your digestion. Not least because it is essentially a liquid drink and the fibre is broken down.

As for Crohn’s, there’s some guidance here about their products if you have an ileostomy and need to avoid seeds.

Overall verdict

I really liked this products. When I was first asked to email them, I was cautious but I’m pretty impressed with the ingredient profile.

I would definitely repurchase the breakfast shake again and I think if I was to recommend one product, it would be that one. It’s the best instant/on the go gluten-free breakfast option I’ve found.
