If you’re a long-time reader of this blog, you’ll know I am a huge fan of Pho. I reviewed Pho for the first time several years ago, and was blown away by their coeliac UK approved menu where everything (other than the spring rolls) is gluten-free. With more places offering vegan menu’s, Pho has followed suit with one of their own. You might have seen on my Instagram that I’m getting a bit fed of brands neglecting us gluten-free folk in favour of Veganuary, so I was pleased to see Pho doing nothing of the sort. All of their vegan menu is suitable for coeliacs (except the spring rolls) and they use soya and pea-based This Isn’t Chicken as a vegan substitute (or tofu instead). Read on for my review of Pho’s new vegan menu…
Disclaimer: I was gifted a meal for 2 but with no obligation to review.
Snacks: ‘Prawnless crackers’

First on Pho’s new vegan menu was their new ‘prawnless’ crackers which were completely addictive and taste exactly like regular prawn crackers to be honest. A 10/10 from us.
Pho Gluten-Free, Vegan Menu Review-The Starters
We ordered 3 starters between us to try. My favorite was the Vietnamese crispy pancake (pictured in the top of the image). This was really tasty and came with a mix of crispy tofu and beansprouts (plus the peanut sauce which is out of this world)

I also had the summer rolls-which are made with rice paper- and include the chicken substitute. The chicken substitute is really decent. Without sauce, it is a little dry but with the peanut sauce it tastes great and not too far off chicken! My partner ordered the vegan spring rolls but unfortunately, these aren’t gluten-free.
Pho’s Vegan Menu Review: Main Course
My husband opted for the vegan curry-which he said was really tasty; comparing the bits on the top to like crispy bacon. He’d ordered Caulirice (Which is also an option on the new menu) but they were out of it-which is a shame, as I was keen to try it!

I went for the noodles with the chicken substitute-it tasted really similar to Pad Thai. The rice noodles were really lovely (although I was slightly bored of the chicken substitute by the end).

Overall, I was really impressed by Pho’s vegan menu. As I can’t eat a lot of vegetables (thanks to Crohn’s), it was great that was a meat substitute and tofu instead. The tofu was lovely and whilst the chicken substitute was slightly dry (as you’d expect), was fine with the sauces supplied. If you’re doing Veganuary or just cutting down on your meat, I’d definitely recommend this menu-you probably won’t even notice the difference!
