It’s been ages since I’ve written a life update and I can’t believe we’re almost at the end of 2020! This year has been memorable for the obvious reasons (aka, a pandemic) but was only the year Jude turned one, we moved into hopefully a long-term home for us and my career has grown.
A health update

So my Crohn’s hasn’t been great this year-if you read my blog post on my pill cam you’d know my Crohn’s in my small intestines has been bad and Azathioprine has been shown by blood tests to stop working. I’ve been on a course of Budesonide, which has actually been really great for me and I’ve just this week started Humira. At this point, I just want to get healthy-I feel like the inflammation has been simmering for a long time!
A new house with a garden!
So, we’ve also moved house-which we’ve been wanting to do for ages. Our previous house in Henley-which we wrote about here-was amazing but so small with a tiny garden. I appreciate there are others in much worse situations but I found it really hard with Jude wanting to move everywhere! We’ve moved away from the main hub but had a huge garden and living room where he just toddles around in!
This is also the first house we feel like we could stay in for a while and even though it’s rented, we’ve actually spent some money making it a home. The preschool is literally on our road too so I hope so much we stay here for ages and Jude can grow up here! We’ve purchased some carpets, painting and really turned Jude’s nursery into a proper room for him by getting some more storage, some animal print wall art, and a toy chest. It also means I can leave him in there to play whilst I tidy upstairs (with the stair gate on of course!)
My home office for one has become a home office for two
Another big change is that my husband has starting to work from home. Sadly he was furloughed and then made redundantly but has now found a great job working from home. This does mean my office of one has become an office for two!
We’ve luckily got two corners so have tried to personalise our little corners as much as possible to create a sort of divide. Thankfully our landlord is actually fine with us decorating and putting art work up so we’ve treated ourselves to some lovely prints, my husband is a fan of the lego art prints whilst I prefer a few inspirational quotes to egg me on when I’m exhausted from being up since 6 am with Jude.
Jude now goes to nursery two days a week which means I’ve managed to take more work on-although furlough makes that difficult. I have started a new site to talk about motherhood life called Mumernity which I’d love you to read if you’re a mum too!
