A gluten and dairy-free guide to Legoland

Last Updated: June 2026

This gluten and dairy free guide to Legoland Windsor is based on our family visits, including stays at the Legoland Hotel and Adventure Hotel. If you’re managing celiac disease, IBD, Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, or a dairy intolerance, a theme park day can feel stressful. My goal is to share exactly what we ate, what worked, and how to plan so you can relax a little and focus on the fun.

Overall, we were really impressed with the gluten and dairy-free options at Legoland and wanted to give it a dedicated blog post to reassure you not to worry if you are going.

Legoland Windsor catered for gluten and dairy free diets, especially at City Walk Pizza & Pasta and at the hotel breakfast. There are still gaps and cross-contamination risks, but with planning, it can be a very doable and a fun day out.

*All menu details in this 2026 update are based on our visits and Legoland Windsor’s published allergen information available at the time of writing. Menus and suppliers change, so always double-check the current allergen guide and speak to staff on the day.

Guten and Dairy Free Legoland at a Glance

  • Legoland Windsor provides a published allergen guide and allergen folders in venues; always ask to see them or check the online allergy info here.
  • The best gluten and dairy free hot meal inside the park is usually a made-to-order pizza at City Walk Pizza & Pasta, with a gluten-free base and dairy-free (vegan) cheese available on our visits.
  • Snack carts, the Costa café in Duplo Valley, and the main LEGO Shop at the entrance usually stock labeled gluten free and dairy free snacks.
  • Hotel breakfast at Bricks Restaurant is far stronger than hotel dinner for allergy-friendly options; we had a full English that was both gluten free and dairy free.
  • For dinner, many families (including us) combine park options with food delivery or nearby Windsor restaurants like Honest Burger.
  • If you live with IBD or celiac disease, pack safe snacks, talk to staff at every venue, and stick to simpler meals (plain grilled meats, fries from safe fryers, fruit).

Pre-Visit Planning Tips For Legoland Windsor

A bit of planning makes a huge difference when you’re gluten and dairy free at Legoland Windsor.

“If you have allergies, never be shy about asking to see the allergen book – it’s there for you.”
A Balanced Belly

1. Read Legoland Windsor’s allergen information

Legoland Windsor publishes an allergen guide on its website. You can find it on their facilities page under allergen information (allergy info here). Before you go:

  • Check which venues offer gluten-free bases, buns, or pasta alternatives.
  • Note which snacks and ice creams are marked gluten and dairy free.
  • Screenshot or print anything that looks helpful, in case reception is patchy in the park.
  • Look again the week of your trip, as recipes and suppliers can change between seasons.

2. Flag allergies when booking the hotel

If you’re staying at the Legoland Hotel or Adventure Hotel:

  • Add a note about “gluten free” and “dairy free” when you book.
  • When you check in, mention your dietary needs again and ask them to note it for Bricks Restaurant and the Skyline Bar.
  • For breakfast and dinner, ask if you can speak directly with the chef or a supervisor about cross-contamination and safe options.

3. Consider calling or emailing ahead

For celiac disease, severe dairy allergy, or active IBD:

  • Contact Legoland Windsor’s Guest Services or food and beverage team a week or two before your visit.
  • Ask about dedicated fryers, gluten-free bases, and how they handle allergen orders.
  • Check whether any venues can use a separate preparation area for your food.
  • Make a note of which outlets they recommend for your specific allergies.

4. Pack a “safe food” kit

Legoland Windsor does allow guests to bring food, and that can be a real safety net. Good options:

  • I always carry a pack or two of Gluten free oatcakes. Gluten-free crackers or pretzels are also an easy option for the kids.
  • Low-fiber snacks if you’re in an IBD flare (plain crisps, rice cakes)
  • Nut- or seed-butter sachets and safe bread
  • Dairy-free protein bars or fruit-and-nut-style bars
  • Electrolyte tablets or rehydration drinks

Think of park food as a bonus rather than your only source of nutrition

Where You Can Eat Gluten And Dairy Free Inside Legoland Windsor

Inside the park, most food is quick-service rather than full table service. For a proper sit-down meal, City Walk Pizza & Pasta is the main option for gluten and dairy free guests, with other venues better for simpler meals or snacks.

If you live with IBD or celiac disease, pack safe snacks, talk to staff at every venue, and stick to simpler meals (plain grilled meats, fries from safe fryers, fruit).

In terms of gluten-free options in the Legoland park itself, there’s only one for a proper sit-down meal is City Walk Pizza and Pasta.

This is a buffet restaurant similar to Pizza Hut where you can sort of fill up on as much pizza and pasta as you like as well as salad.

There was not much for gluten-free although they do have potato salad that was actually dairy-free and gluten-free when I looked on their website in advance (see their allergy info here) and of course, the things like salad were marked as gluten and dairy-free but there’s a risk of cross-contamination there.

However, what was brilliant was that they made me a special pizza. You could pick from a gluten-free base, whatever toppings you want, and they also did vegan cheese. Although this doesn’t look the most appetising, it was actually really nice! And with pre-booking discounts worked out about £15 which wasn’t ridiculously expensive given its size and that we’re in a theme park.

Gluten and dairy free pizza at legoland

Around the park, there wasn’t a huge amount of other options. By Lego Duploland there is a cafe with a Costa, there were dairy-free options there in terms of hot drinks, and there are a few gluten-free snacks like crisps. As you leave/enter the park at the front entrance, there’s the Lego shop that also sold different snacks and there was quite a few different gluten and dairy-free options there like naked bars and Hippeas. Finally, we also noticed that the Ben and Jerry’s which is opposite the cinema also had dairy-free ice cream, but unfortunately, they only had the one flavour that had gluten in so just sharing that if you’re dairy-free or not gluten-free.

Here’s a quick overview of where we’ve found gluten free and dairy free options:

Burger outlets (various locations)Burgers & friesBurger patty without bun (make sure it doesn’t contain gluten), fries from a dedicated fryer (if any)Bunless burger, salad, fries if not cross-contaminated

Dessert stands & ice cream (e.g. Ben & Jerry’s)Ice cream & lolliesSome fruit-based ice lolliesFruit lollies, slushies, water ices (always double-check labels)

*Based on our visits and the allergen information available at the time; always confirm current options

When ordering:

  • State that you need your meal gluten free and dairy free for medical reasons.
  • Ask staff to show you the allergen folder so you can double-check ingredients.
  • If you have celiac disease, confirm that the fries are cooked in a separate fryer from chicken nuggets or breaded fish.

*Tip for IBD: a plain burger patty with fries and a small side of salad can be a good, fairly low-fiber choice compared with buns or spicy sauces.

Snack Carts And Coffee Shops At Legoland Windsor

Around the park, snack carts and coffee shops can help fill gaps between main meals.

By Duplo Valley there is a café with a Costa counter. On our visit, this offered:

  • Dairy-free milk options for hot drinks (ask which plant milks they currently stock)
  • Standard coffee shop teas and americanos
  • Packaged crisps and snacks, including some marked gluten free

At the main entrance/exit, the LEGO Shop also sold packaged snacks. We found:

  • Gluten and dairy free bars such as fruit-and-nut-style bars
  • Chickpea snacks like Hippeas
  • Other labeled free-from treats

These are especially handy if you’re managing IBD, IBS, or celiac disease and need something with clear ingredients. Always read the labels, as recipes and suppliers can change.

You might find it helpful to:

  • Stick to pre-packed products with full ingredient lists
  • Choose snacks that you already know are safe at home
  • Keep one or two “emergency” snacks in your bag in case the park runs out of your usual options

What gluten free options are there at Legoland Hotel?

02170C55 80EA 418F 8C49 E95D0DE54A93 Rotated

This was our first day at the Legoland Hotel, and we had a really really great time but to be honest, the food in the hotel was not as great as the food in the park. The dinner choices for gluten and dairy free diets were more limited

You usually have two main options: The Skyline Bar and Bricks Restaurant (Hotel Buffet / Set Menu)

Food Delivery To The Hotel

If we went back, we would seriously consider ordering from:

  • Local gluten-friendly restaurants through Deliveroo or Uber Eats (Legoland Windsor is close to Windsor town).
  • Trusted chains that clearly label gluten free and dairy free options.

We checked delivery apps and found several places that could cater to gluten free diets. This can give you more variety and control over ingredients than relying on the hotel alone.

In the hotel itself, there’s the option of eating at the Bricks restaurant and they do claim to cater for gluten and dairy-free however, it was £24.99 for three courses, and I looked online, there was only a couple of options for each course and no option for dessert. It just seemed really expensive after we’d eaten at the park already and had quite a big meal.

So we went down to the Skyline Bar and unfortunately at the time they didn’t have a lot of options for gluten-free but they did make me gluten-free fries. After a busy day, the fries were fine but a bit pricey, as you’d expect for a theme park hotel.

Do they cater to gluten free at Legoland’s hotel breakfast?

Our experience in the Bricks restaurant for breakfast was much much better. They had many of gluten-free options. I think there was only one thing that they couldn’t do gluten-free for the English breakfast, but I managed to have gluten-free sausages, bacon, beans eggs, and gluten-free toast which is also really good as well.

GLuten free breakfast at legoland hotel

So I was really surprised because I was expecting not many breakfast options but I managed to have a full English that was also dairy-free.

Overall, I think there are enough options for being gluten and dairy-free of Legoland. Of course. Another option is to just take your own food which is what we did last time and Legoland has no problem with that. But if you are in Legoland. I also didn’t realise how close the Legoland hotels are to Legoland park, so you could also just walk over to the hotel and use their facilities if you just wanted some gluten-free chips or a gluten-free breakfast. We can’t wait to go back and I hope you found these travel guides useful. Let me know if you’ve been and what you’ve eaten there. If you’re gluten-free too?

Here’s what a typical gluten and dairy free plate looked like for us:

Breakfast ItemGluten Free On Our Visit*Dairy Free On Our Visit*Notes
Gluten-free sausagesYesYesConfirm brand and cooking method with the chef
BaconYesYesCheck for shared grills or added marinades
Baked beansYesYesVerify recipe in the allergen folder
Eggs (fried/scrambled)YesYesAsk if any milk or butter is added to scrambled eggs
Gluten-free toastYesDepends on spreadRequest separate toaster or freshly cleaned grill plate

*Always confirm current options at Bricks Restaurant, as brands and recipes can change.

Tips for breakfast:

  • Let your server know as soon as you’re seated that you’re gluten and dairy free.
  • Ask for gluten-free bread to be toasted separately to limit cross-contamination.
  • Check whether they have plant-based milks for cereal or hot drinks.
  • If you’re in an IBD flare, focus on lower-fiber options like eggs, white toast, and small portions of cooked vegetables.

We were genuinely surprised (and relieved) to be able to eat a full English that was both gluten free and dairy free yet health-conscious treat that proves free-from food doesn’t have to be joyless. Given how close the hotels are to the park, you could even walk over just for a hearty gluten-free breakfast before heading into Legoland Windsor.

Bringing Your Own Food And Eating Nearby In Windsor

Another key part of this gluten and dairy free guide to Legoland Windsor is bringing your own food and knowing nearby options.

Bringing Your Own Food Into Legoland Windsor

On previous trips we packed our own meals and snacks, and Legoland Windsor had no problem with that. For many people with celiac disease, IBD, or food allergies, bringing food is non-negotiable.

Ideas to pack:

  • Sandwiches on your favorite gluten-free bread
  • Home-baked snacks or trusted packaged bars
  • Low-FODMAP options if that’s relevant for your IBS
  • Foods that you know are safe during an IBD flare (plain rice, chicken, simple crisps)

Always check the current official policy before you go, but Legoland Windsor is usually understanding about medically necessary food.

Eating In Windsor

If you want a break from park food, Windsor has solid gluten and dairy free choices:

  • Honest Burger in Windsor is about a 15–20 minute drive from Legoland. We parked in Windsor town center and walked up. They have great gluten-free options, including buns and sides, and are used to dealing with allergy questions.
  • My gluten-free Windsor guide has more ideas, including coffee shops and bakeries.
  • The Prince Albert pub is very close to Legoland Windsor and has been known to cater for gluten free guests; it’s worth checking current menus and booking ahead.

Combining park meals with a reliable restaurant in Windsor, or delivery to your hotel room, can make the trip feel much more relaxed.

Managing Cross-Contamination And IBD At Legoland Windsor

Even with a friendly allergy policy, Legoland Windsor is not a 100% gluten-free or dairy-free environment. For those of us with celiac disease, IBD, or severe allergies, cross-contamination is the biggest concern.

Here are practical steps that helped:

  • Always speak to staff before ordering. Tell them clearly: “I need this to be gluten free and dairy free for medical reasons.”
  • Ask to see the allergen folder. Each venue should have an allergen book with ingredients and allergen symbols for every item.
  • Request fresh gloves and separate utensils. Especially for pizzas, fries, or toast.
  • Ask about fryers. Check whether fries share a fryer with breaded chicken or fish. If they do, ask if they can oven-bake some potatoes or fries instead.
  • Be cautious with buffets. At Bricks Restaurant and City Walk, food can be moved between trays. If you’re highly sensitive, ask the chef whether they can plate items directly from the kitchen for you.
  • Choose simpler foods. Plain grilled meat, fries from a safe fryer, rice, and fruit cups tend to be kinder on an IBD gut than rich sauces or heavily spiced dishes.

For many people with IBD, a theme park day is easier when you stick to low-fiber, lower-fat options and keep portions small, topping up with your own safe snacks when you can.

Conclusion

Legoland Windsor is far from a dedicated gluten-free venue, but it does offer enough gluten and dairy free options to make a visit realistic – even if you’re juggling celiac disease, IBD, or multiple food intolerances.

City Walk Pizza & Pasta, snack carts, and especially the hotel breakfast at Bricks Restaurant gave us several safe, satisfying meals. Dinner at the hotel felt more limited, so we’d plan ahead with deliveries or Windsor restaurants next time.

With this gluten and dairy free guide to Legoland Windsor (2026 Update), some pre-trip planning, and a bag of your own safe snacks, you can spend less time worrying about food and more time enjoying the rides — a mindset that mirrors what writers like Antonia Balazs describe in Travel Insights: Valparaíso and the art of slowing down and being present wherever you are. If you’ve been and eaten gluten and dairy free at Legoland Windsor, I’d love to hear what worked for you too.

FAQs

Can you bring your own food into Legoland Windsor?

Yes, Legoland Windsor has allowed guests to bring their own food, especially for medical or allergy reasons. Many families with celiac disease, IBD, or food allergies bring packed lunches and snacks. Policies can change, so always check the official Legoland Windsor website before your visit and be ready to explain that the food is for medical dietary needs if asked.

Is Legoland Windsor coeliac safe?

Legoland Windsor offers gluten-free options and has allergen information available, but it is not a completely gluten-free site. Cross-contamination is possible in shared kitchens, buffets, and fryers. Many people with celiac disease eat there without problems by:

  • Speaking directly with staff or a chef
  • Using the allergen folders

Does Legoland Windsor have a dedicated allergen menu?

Legoland Windsor publishes allergen information online and keeps allergen folders at each food outlet. You can find the current guide on their site under facilities and allergen information (allergy info here). In-park, ask to see the allergen book at every venue and check ingredients yourself. At Bricks Restaurant in the Legoland Hotel, we were offered:

  • Gluten-free sausages

All prepared so that the plate was both gluten free and dairy free. Plant milks are often available for hot drinks and cereal; ask your server what they have that day. Always remind staff about your allergies or celiac disease, and ask for gluten-free bread to be handled and toasted separately to reduce cross-contamination.
