6 easy to digest, high protein smoothies (GF,DF)

Today I’m back with another blog post and this time I’m chatting about my favourite easy to digest, high protein smoothie recipes. This post is perfectly timed with lots of digestive awareness happening at the moment: with IBS Awareness and Bowel Cancer awareness month in April and World IBD Day next month.

I’ve also focused on dairy-free high protein smoothie recipes as I personally think many gluten and dairy free recipes don’t talk about the importance of protein.

You might think about protein in terms of gym-goers; but if you have a digestive condition, then protein is more important than ever: it gives us energy, can help with gut repair, can keep our blood sugar stable and help cope with stress. If you’re looking to start your days with a smoothie, why not try these six easy to digest, high protein smoothies? Make sure you read to the end of the giveaway as I’ll be giving away my favourite vegan protein mix Purition!

As you all know, I’m a freelance writer, so I’ve recently written this piece for Purition (the dairy-free protein brand I’m currently using) called 5 ways to start your day right with IBS for IBS Awareness Month. I know lots of you who read my blog have IBS; so it’s a useful read that explains in more detail why smoothies can be really helpful for your digestion.

Natural Protein Powder Discovery Boxes

They’ve very kindly offered to give away a discovery box: a six-day supply of their dairy-free protein powders (so you can try all of these recipes and up the protein in them even further by using Purition’s hemp protein powder!). To be in with a chance to win, enter below!

Banana, mango, coconut milk, cardamom and lime juice โ€“ this is a yummy tropical combo. The little twist of black pepper is an unusual touch, but it adds a lovely subtle warmth.

I’ve seen that turmeric smoothie of yours before but haven’t had a chance to make it but now I have all the ingredients and I am definitely making it this week. I normally make green smoothies with some kind of supergreens powder, banana and other stuff but I know turmeric is so good for you so I really need to try and incorporate it into my meals more often.
