Surviving the Christmas Season: Gluten Free Buffet Foods.

Following on from my post on surviving Christmas meals out  today’s post is about another big challenge that befalls us with dietary requirements: the buffet. Buffets are bloody impossible if you are sticking to a diet, since everyone ditches the food wrappers making it impossible to check for your trigger foods. I know it’s much better to make things from scratch but sometimes we just need to grab some gluten free buffet foods on the way to an occasion that we know we can eat!  Therefore I’ve created a round up of the best gluten free buffet foods (which are also dairy free too as an added bonus!).

While I’m not claiming these are mega healthy, they’re perfect to bring to a family or office rty since they all contain no gluten or milk (A few contain egg; I’ll let you know which ones do below)

I hope you find this guide helpful, I’ve tried to include as many links as poss so you can find the ingredient list online.

Part 1: Savoury Snacks

  1. Great post idea. I wouldn’t have a clue what to buy for someone who had a gluten free diet. I will be sure to have a few of these in, just in case. Always better to be prepared 🙂
Thanks for linking up to #ChristmasCorner

  2. This is AWESOME! My husband was just bemoaning the fact that because I have celiac he has to do without mince pies this year. We didn’t realize there were gluten free varieties! Now there is one very happy British ex-pat here in the Windy City.

  3. Great ideas! The Christmas buffet is a minefield if your gluten free (or any buffet, for that matter; I’ve lost count of the number of weddings where I haven’t been able to eat anything!!). I’ve also been buying the M&S scotch eggs and cutting them
Into finger food sized pieces and their quiches too recently, both are yum! I found your post via #ChristmasCorner 🙂

  4. Thank you for these ideas. My hubby has just started a gluten free diet and I have no idea how I’m going to put together a New Year buffet. This post has definitely helped. Thank you. Dawn x

  5. Nuts ? NUTS? – are you mad woman!!! Actually Im very jealous – nuts are a total no no for me – and coconut has put me in hospital several times before I gave in and excluded it. Trouble is -so many GF foods are made with coconut -so they are ok in one way, and definitely not in another.
Thanks for the list though – Im sure loads of people found it helpful.
    Take care-from a fellow Crohnnie / baglady
