The Best Turmeric Recipes from Across the Web

turmeric recipes

I’m always slightly skeptical when another fruit or veg is suddenly hailed as a superfood. Take Kale for example: I tried it, I was nothing special and it doesn’t seem to be nutritionally superior to other green veggies such as broccoli. Yet everywhere I go I’m offered kale in various forms: juiced (God knows how, I can literally get nothing out of my juicer when I used it), made into potato crisps, sprinkled over salads the list goes on. Anyway, I digress, this post is not a rant about kale but a guide to turmeric (including some amaze turmeric recipes!) Because for me turmeric is something that truly lives up to the superfood hype. For those with crohn’s or another inflammatory condition like me, turmeric is proven to have an anti-TNF effect similar to Remicade. For those who are lucky enough not to have needed to understand the previous sentence, put simply turmeric is an absolute genius at blasting inflammation. Let’s take a look at what else it can do…

I actually made my own infographic. Isn’t it pretty? Pin it immediately! 🙂

Turmeric is one of the few spices where scientific studies have actually proven it’s medicinal effects (If you are interested here’s an example)  Personally speaking, I juice turmeric almost every day and found it made a real difference to my crohn’s. My brother Jack (when forced, love of nutrition doesn’t run in the family) also uses it for eczema and it’s really helped his skin. My routine had consisted of just chucking it in the juicer, but thanks to the fabulous new Health Blogger community, I have a ton of turmeric recipes to share to provide inspiration on how to include turmeric in your diet.

1. Turmeric Humus from The Food Crafter (Humus with a kick? I’m in heaven!) These gorgeous humus is really simple to make but a great way to get extra turmeric in your diet.

  3. I really enjoyed this roundup! Turmeric is such a versatile ingredient, and I love seeing creative ways to use it beyond the usual recipes. It’s amazing how one spice can add warmth, flavor, and a beautiful pop of color while fitting into so many different meals and drinks. I especially appreciate recipe collections like this because they make healthy eating feel practical and inspiring rather than repetitive.
