In my last post before Christmas, I wanted to share with you my go-to-apps for healthy living. These 6 apps make eating clean, exercise and relaxation just that little bit easier. Most are free but a few you have to shell out for so make use of that ITunes voucher burning a hole in your pocket (you’ll get a lot more use out of these apps than the XFactor single which I know you’re secretly thinking of buying! 😉

1. Omvana, ITunes/Web, Free. Omvana is an amazing free app to help with meditation. Designed like a mini-itunes, users can download both free and paid meditations to use with the app. There’s everything from beginners meditation, background music and targeted exercises. I downloaded this yesterday and I can’t wait to explore it more!
2. The Whole Pantry, ITunes/Android, £1.99 There’s lots of healthy eating apps at the moment but what I really like about this one is it a complete package with everything from recipes, lifestyle guides, recommended book lists. If you are transitioning into a healthy lifestyle, it’s a really great place to start.
3. Daily Yoga, ITunes, Free. This app is really simple- short yoga sessions (starting from 10 minutes) that you download from your phone. It’s a great way of fitting in yoga stretches each day.
4. Headspace, ITunes/Web/Android, Free I’ve blogged about how much I love headspace before. It’s free to sign up to a basic ten day program and from that you can choose to subscribe to a full package. I recently did this and it’s well worth the money. My favourite is the ‘SOS’ meditation, a three minute meditation to use when you are in stress-mode. Everything is broken down so simply, it doesn’t even feel like you are meditating. Until you realise you feel so much calmer…
5. Honestly Healthy , ITunes, £2.99 A little pricey but well worth the money. This recipe app is full of simple, beautifully shot recipes. Unlike some healthy eating apps, the ingredients are pretty simple and don’t require a big trek to the healthfood shop!
6. Balanced, ITunes, Free. This is really a fancy to-do list app, but the emphasis is definitely on creating life goals rather than ‘buy more almond milk’ . It’s a great way of setting yourself goals, defining how often you want to do them and then the best bit…swiping the activity once you’ve completed it! It even reminds you through notifications if you are slacking. I use this every day and my current goals are: to blog; to study nutrition; to spend some quality time with my husband; to do yoga and cook something healthy.
So that’s my rundown of the best apps for healthy living, what are yours? Do you use any I’ve listed?

Ah I’m so glad, you will love them both! Merry christmas!
