Bank Holiday Weekend Healthy Haul

Happy Bank Holiday Monday! It’s so lovely to have the extra day to do all the things that I can never get around to! I had such a busy week last week but I’m excited to share that I’ve found a new job working part-time from September; which will give me more time to focus on my blogging and my nutrition things! I can’t wait to have a bit more work/life balance and it will hopefully mean I can start saying yes to more blogging opportunities! To celebrate, I went on a little shopping trip. I’ve never done a haul type post before but I love reading all kinds of haul types, so I thought you might do too! Of course, mine is a healthy haul so think less Primark and more Pickled Cabbage (yes, I’m serious!)

First up, I picked up Madeline Shaw’s new book. It’s currently half-price in WH Smiths at £10 so I snapped it up! I am probably in a bit of a rut foodwise, and these recipes look great. I love that it isn’t completely plant-based, which most clean eating ones are- this one includes plenty of fish and chicken choices! They’re all designed to take under 30 minutes and the ingredient lists seem really straightforward. I can’t wait to try them out.

I also headed to the Blogger’s Parlour VIP BodyShop opening and met the lovely Abi who is organising all kinds of exciting events for Brum (head to the Blogger’s Parlour site if you haven’t already). I rediscovered my love for BodyShop and stumbled upon the 40% code that O2 are offering Priority Users this month!  I snapped up banana shampoo, coconut oil and a fruity hair mask. I haven’t been to the body shop for years but I forgot how lovely and natural everything smelt! I’ll definitely be back!

I then headed to Natural Healthy Foods, which is a fab vegan shop in Digbeth (near Warehouse cafe)

I purchased some Sauerkraut since I’m trying to improve my gut bacteria. I’m starting very slowly- 1 teaspoon at first, but it seems to be doing the trick so far and is helping my stomach issues. Hopefully I can keep increasing it. I also bought some gluten free gnocci, miso soup (which is another good gut bacteria food) and this vegan blue cheese dressing. If you are vegan or dairy free, I’d seriously recommend trying this- it tastes really creamy and cheesy (hard to believe since it’s low fat and doesn’t contain dairy!)

So that’s my healthy food haul! What did you buy this weekend?

Oh!! I’m an O2 priority costumer! I need to get myself to the BodyShop, I could use some hair mask and BodyShop have the best hair masks! You found a great bargain on the book, too! 🙂 xx

I love miso soup, and drink it several times a week. It is actually the best hangover cure I have found. (I realise this reads as if I am hung over several times a week – which I am not)

Sauerkraut. Being German I should eat it more often. I just returned from a weekend trip to Cannes and I wish I could say I was very healthy there. I need to buy Madeleine Shaw’s new book, I loved the first one.
